It’s no longer a requirement to test for Covid-19 before Gorilla trekking, Chimpanzee or visiting any national park in Rwanda. It has been a mandatory for all travelers going for Mountain Gorilla Tracking, Golden monkey and Chimpanzee Trekking to test for Covid-19, and a negative test meant not tracking for the tourist. This has seen some miss out on the legendary adventure in Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe forest national park.

However a communication from Rwanda Development Board has come at a perfect time as seen from this Tweet:

We encourage and reassure all our clients that as long as you are vaccinated for Covid-19 and have the vaccination certificate, you will be able to track the primates.
