The safari itinerary included mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest, chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest

A group of 12 Americans headed by Judy recently concluded a 5 Days Gorilla tour in Uganda. The safari itinerary included mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest, chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest reserve an area close to Queen Elizabeth National park, and also a game drive in Queen Elizabeth and a boat ride on Kazinga channel.

Summary of the Itinerary

Day 1: Airport pickup and Transfer to Bwindi from Entebbe

The travelers, youngest in their early 50’s and oldest in early 80’s arrived at Entebbe international Airport in 2 groups and were received by Moses and Faruk. They were transferred to their accommodation in Entebbe.

Later in the morning they embarked on the journey to Bwindi with stop at the equator for a cup of coffee/tea and some souvenirs.

The journey continued to Bwindi with a stop in Mbarara town for Lunch and the proceeded to Bwindi with an overnight stay at Four Gorillas Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Day

This was the gorilla trekking day, they gathered at the visitor center for briefing about the do’s and don’ts of gorilla trekking and were escorted to the forest by rangers into the forest.

After locating the gorillas, they spent an hour with the primates and then trekked out of the forest.

Day 3: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

The journey continued to Queen Elizabeth national park and on arrival, they checked in the lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge for lunch and then went for an evening game drive.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Evening Boat Safari:

On this day, they went for chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest. It was anticipated that the trek would be easy, however, it turned out to be quite a long trek and a great challenge to some of the guests, however, they all completed the trek, and were rewarded with an evening boat safari on Kazinga channel for wildlife viewing.

Day 5: End of Tour

The 5 Days Uganda Safari ended with a drive back to Entebbe for a night before drop off at the airport for the flight back to USA. The clients stayed at Lake Victoria Hotel in Entebbe.
